Ahmed Yerima, former Zamfara state governor, has paid a visit to Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, seriki Shasha, Oyo state, over the violence that recently occurred in the area.
Yerima commiserated with those affected and called for peaceful co-existence between the people of the community.
He asked the residents to see themselves as one big family and should continue to live in peace.
While urging the residents to put the incident behind them, the former governor called on Katsina to bring back his people who had left the community so they could continue their businesses without fear.

Yerima described the people of Oyo state as accommodating and loving, adding that they are always ready to identify with all and sundry, no matter the ethnic group.
Katsina thanked Yerima for his patriotism and for finding time to visit and commiserate with the Shasha community.
“We are one big family of peaceful Nigerians first and foremost, who have mingled and inter-married, hence, there is no Hausa or Igbo in Shasha, but true Nigerians,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yerima on Friday joined other Nigerians at the eight-day Fidau prayer for late Lateef Jakande, first civilian governor of Lagos state, whom he described as a nationalist par excellence.
He urged politicians to emulate Jakande’s selfless service, commitment and resilience.
