Some of the local government areas where violence broke out are Akuku-Toru, Asari-Toru, Abonema, Degema, Bonny, Ahoada West, Andoni, Ikwerre, Emouha and Okrika.

The governor met with some of the victims and the council of chiefs at a town-hall meeting in Abonema, on Monday.

According to TheNation, he said the bank accounts of the victims will be credited from Wednesday.

On March 10, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) suspended the electoral process in the state as a result of violence and widespread disruption of collation of results.

This was despite the deployment of over 15,000 policemen to cover the 23 local government areas, 319 wards, 4,442 polling units and 2,424 voting points in the state.

The commission blamed the military for alleged involvement in the incidents.
