Wike holds brief meeting with Buhari at Aso Rock

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, held a brief meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja on Monday.

Wike arrived the villa around 2:05pm and headed to the office of the president.

The meeting lasted for about 20 minutes, and its agenda was not made known, as the governor refused to address state house correspondents while on his way out.

This is the first known private meeting between both men.

Wike is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while the president belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
