Andrew Uchendu, senator representing Rivers east, says Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, is always on the path of war.
Uchendu said this on Tuesday while speaking with journalists after he collected his certificate of return at Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja.
He said Wike lacked the vision to that could improve the lives of the Rivers people.
“If he says I’m a nobody, then he is the worst governor Rivers has ever had. He is least exposed, least travelled, he is intellectually incapacitated and does not have the requisite leadership capacity but all these I will want to provide, if he will accept it,” he said.

“Although the governor is always on the path of war, I will extend a hand of fellowship to him because I could be in a position to guide him. With my age I might be in a better position to guide him it cannot be all war, war.
“Series of administrations have come and they have made their individual contributions but the worst from my own evaluation is that of the present governor who lacks the capacity to come up with the vision that will impact meaningfully in the lives of the people in the state.”
Uchendu said Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, had made enormous contributions his state.

He added that the political think-thank of Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of the state, is responsible for the success Wike has achieved politically.
“Look at Ambode, so many programmes for the young, for the old and for the entire citizenry – you see a governor carrying machete, displaying, he wants to cut, that tells you the mentality but notwithstanding with this certificate I have promised to go back, settle down with him, sit down so we find a way to move the state forward,” he said.
“The people of Rivers state are more important to me than Nyesom Wike.
“He [Wike] knows that it was my responsibility as the chairman of what we called the Rotimi Amaechi’s political think-thank to nurture him for 12 good years. He was only a local government chairman,” Uchendu said.

“That platform raised him to his second term in office, raised him to be chief of staff and raised him to be minister and I remained the chairman of that think-thank.”
