Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, says the infrastructural projects embarked upon by his administration cut across all the LGAs of the state.
Wike said this on Thursday at the inauguration of Rumuodogo link road in Emohua LGA of Rivers state.
The governor was responding to a recent comment by Clem Agba, minister of state for budget and national planning.
While speaking with journalists after the federal executive council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, the minister accused state governors of concentrating development projects in urban areas instead of rural areas where more people can be found.

According to Agba, governors prefer to function in the state capitals rather than build roads that will aid farmers in rural communities to easily take their farm produce to the city.
Responding on Thursday, Wike said Agba “sits in Abuja” to speak on issues without going around states to get the facts.
“When they go on television, they open their mouth and talk anyhow,” he said.

“You just sit there — you have not been anywhere to go and check whether the rural roads are being done, and you open your vocal cavity because you have the opportunity as a minister to talk anyhow.
“Come to Rivers state and see whether we are doing roads that will lead to the agricultural produce or not before you open your mouth.
“We are not doing roads in the city; we are doing roads across all the local government areas of this state.”
