Wike says Buhari needs ministers like Dalung

Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, says President Muhammadu Buhari needs people like Solomon Dalung, minister of youth and sports, in his cabinet.

Dalung has been subjected to criticisms over some controversial remarks but Wike believes he is doing a good job

Speaking when the minister paid a courtesy call on him at the government house in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Monday, Wike said Dalung had shown commitment to the unity of the country.

Dalung visited the state to unveil the logo of the national wrestling championship and the African wrestling championship in 2018.

“What you have done for Rivers state is not what money can buy. You have by this action introduced a positive change for Rivers state – you are telling the world that Rivers state is peaceful and a place to invest.”

Dalung said wrestling was traditional to Nigeria, hence the country would continue to excel in the sport.
