Cable Newspaper Limited, publishers of TheCable, has launched a free-to-play online quiz that will reward readers with N10,000 daily, excluding weekends.
CableQuiz is now available to play via quiz.thecable.ng.
Announcing the competition on the fifth anniversary of TheCable on Monday, Simon Kolawole, founder and CEO, said there has been persistent complaint about young Nigerians not knowing the country’s history but little has been done to tackle the challenge.
“Our mandate is to deliver knowledge-driven journalism in the pursuit of Nigeria’s progress, and we shall continue to do this using the resources that we have,” he said.

“CableQuiz will teach people history in a fun way. The players will be having fun and learning at the same time and could get rewarded with a cash prize.
“We are running an experimental phase for one month, after which we shall decide whether or not to scale it up.”
TheCable online newspaper was launched on April 29, 2014 to take part in the quest for the development of Nigeria, using a knowledge-based approach.

Important questions and answers
Is CableQuiz another form of gambling?
CableQuiz is not gambling. Gambling requires an entry fee, unlike CableQuiz which is absolutely free to play. It is a competition based on a test of knowledge. It requires research and accurate answers. It is very educative, unlike gambling which is a game of chance.
You say N10,000 is up for grabs everyday. Does every entry stand the chance of winning that amount?

Yes. If there is only one correct entry, that entry wins N10,000. However, if there are two or more winners, the prize money will be shared equally. There cannot be more than 10 winners in a day, so if there are more than 10 correct entries, an electronic draw will pick 10 winners.
So even if I get all the questions correctly, I may not share in the prize?
Yes. You will only share in the prize if there are not more than 10 correct entries and you are one of the 10.
