Jeremy Corbyn, Britain’s opposition Labour Party leader, on Tuesday said he would not resign after members of parliament (MPs) in his party overwhelmingly passed a motion of no confidence in his leadership.
A total of 172 Labour member of parliaments voted to support a motion of no confidence in Corbyn.
He had insisted that he was a democratically elected leader of Labour Party for a new kind of politics by 60 per cent of Labour members and supporters.
Corbyn said he would not betray the electorates that voted him in by resigning.
