Woodhall Capital, NACC to honour Mo Abudu with visionary leadership award

Woodhall Capital and the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) will present the visionary leadership award to Mo Abudu in celebration of her 60th birthday.

According to a statement on Thursday by Wofai Samuel, acting director-general of NACC, the award will be presented during the breakfast meeting of NACC in partnership with Woodhall Capital.

“During the event, Woodhall Capital will honour Mo Abudu with the Visionary Leadership Award as she celebrates her 60th birthday,” Samuel said.

“Mo Abudu has significantly influenced the growth of the entertainment and media sectors in Nigeria, promoting cultural exchange between Nigeria and the United States.”

The meeting, themed “How the Changing Banking Sector Landscape Can Support Nigeria’s Socioeconomic Reforms” is scheduled to take place on October 8, at the Lagos Continental Hotel.

“The guest speaker of the breakfast meeting is Mr. Kenneth Opara, the Immediate Past President of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), while the discussants are Mrs. Margaret Olele, CEO of the American Business Council (ABC); Dr. (Mrs) Omolara Akanji, former Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and Chairman, ICC Banking Commission of the International Chamber of Commerce Nigeria,” the NACC said.

“Also on the panel to review the guest speaker’s presentation is Otunba Francis Meshioye, President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), while Mr. Olufemi Awoyemi, Founder/Chairman of Proshare, one of Nigeria’s leading financial hubs, will be the moderator.

“The chief host is Alhaji Sheriff Balogun, National President of the Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, Nigeria’s foremost bi-lateral chamber established in 1960.”

The acting DG said the meeting aims to provide Nigerian and United States businesses with insights and strategies for navigating the current economic landscape.

Speaking on the partnership, Mojisola Hunponu-Wusu, founder of Woodhall Capital, emphasised the importance of enhancing business relations between Nigeria and America while recognising Mo Abudu’s achievements.

“Her work has elevated the creative landscape in Nigeria and contributed to the country’s global presence,” Hunponu-Wusu said.

“This partnership aims to facilitate discussions that will benefit businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Woodhall Capital is a financial advisory firm that has raised over $5 billion from various funding sources across the globe.

The funds have been raised to support local financial institutions, multinationals and conglomerates operating in various economic sectors in Nigeria and across Africa.
