The Black Stars of Ghana were defeated 2-0 by Uruguay in their final Group H match at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday.
The victory was, however, unproductive for the South Americans as they alongside Ghana crashed out of the competition following Korea’s triumph over Portugal in the other group clash.
The Qatar 2022 World Cup continues to churn out high dramas and upsets as Group H went down to the wire.
Uruguay knew they must beat Ghana in order to book a second-round ticket and a first-half brace from Giorgian de Arrascaeta emphasised their intent.

However, Korea came from a goal down at the Education City stadium to defeat Portugal and claim second place in the group.
Ricardo Horla had put the Portuguese ahead in the fifth minute after Diogo Dalot darted in from the wing to set him free in the box.
Kim Young-Gwon, however, equalized for Korea in the 27th minute and, in a melodramatic ending, the Asians got the winner over Portugal deep into added time via Hwang Hee-Chan.
