The Rotary Club of Lagos says it has concluded plans to commemorate the 2025 World Peace and Understanding Day with a symposium focusing on the critical need to end hunger.
The humanitarian group said in a statement on Wednesday that the event with the theme ‘Peace through partnerships: Ending hunger together’ will be held on February 26 at the Henry Fajemirokun Hall of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Adetunji Lamidi, the president of the Rotary Club of Lagos, said the event is a reminder of the group’s crucial role in promoting peace and resolving conflicts.
Lamidi added that the club has supported projects that foster peace-building and economic development in Nigeria.

So, the month and the symposium of February 26th in Lagos remind us of the critical role we play in promoting peace and understanding and conflict resolution in our communities and around the world,” the statement reads.
“Through our peace-building initiatives, we support projects and programmes that foster dialogue, reconciliation, and economic development, ultimately helping to create a more just and peaceful world for all.”
