World’s oldest Panda in captivity celebrates 37th birthday

Jia Jia, Hong Kong’s oldest giant Panda, celebrated her 37th birthday on Tuesday in style with a bamboo and vegetable ice cake at Hong Kong’s Ocean Park

She was awarded two Guinness World Record titles to mark her birthday.

Jia Jia, who resides at Ocean Park in Hong Kong, China, now holds the titles for oldest panda ever in captivity and the oldest panda living in captivity, having reached the equivalent of 111 human years.

Jia Jia was born in 1978 and arrived at the park in March 1999, and has lived there ever since.
