Worship For Change donates N8.25m to four charities to support children with special needs

Worship For Change, a not-for-profit charity organisation, has donated N8.25 million each to four charities to support children with special needs.

The donation and presentation of cheques to beneficiaries took place on Tuesday at an event in Lagos.

The beneficiaries are the Joy in Africa Foundation; To Omo Ore Centre for Special Empowerment; Let Cerebral Palsy Kids Learn Foundation and The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs.

Wale Adenuga, the founder of Worship For Change, said the organisation has since its establishment raised N120 million for 38 charities caring for orphans and children with special needs across the country.

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who donated to this cause from Nigeria and all over the world,” Adenuga said.

Also speaking at the event, Aondofa Anjira, founder of The Sedoo Initiative for Children with Special Needs, thanked Worship For Change for the donation, noting that every child deserves a right to life.

“These children are considered as spirits and not deserving of life. Even supposed Christians say kill them, drown them, why would you take care of a child that is never going to be of help to you?” Anjira said.

“The donation shows that parents of children with disabilities are not alone. You have shown that you feel our pain and understand what we go through.

“We are not the authors of this life. Every child is created in the image of God. All we need is understanding and acceptance. Every child deserves a right to life.”
