Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, has assented to the bill for the establishment of the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Adavi local government area of the state.
The state assembly had on Wednesday given its approval for the establishment of the university and also passed the bill for the establishment of the Central Reference Hospital in Okene.
Speaking at the signing ceremony which held at the governor’s office on Friday, Bello said the importance of education and health to the society cannot be overemphasised.
He said the university would “serve as a specialised one that will provide the much needed manpower for the ever increasing industries within and outside the country”.

The governor promised that he would ensure that the resources, time and dedication needed to ensure that the project is commissioned before the expiration of his tenure would be put in place.
Also, signing the bill for the establishment of the Central Reference Hospital Okene, Bello said his administration is committed to boosting healthcare delivery in the state.
He also made a reference to the Kogi state health insurance scheme, which he had earlier signed into law, noting that it will guarantee every citizen of the state access to quality health services.
