‘You are coming to equity with dirty hands’ — Shehu Sani tackles el-Rufai over criticism of Uba Sani

Shehu Sani, former senator representing Kaduna central

Shehu Sani, a former senator, has berated Nasir el-Rufai, the ex-governor of Kaduna, for his harsh criticism of Uba Sani, his successor in the state.

El-Rufai had accused Uba Sani of being a sycophant to President Bola Tinubu, alleging that he received N150 billion in grants.

He said the governor’s support for the president is because of the N150 billion reimbursements to Kaduna state by the federal government in the past 18 months.

However, Sani alleged that el-Rufai’s administration received millions of dollars in funding from the World Bank and the federal government during the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari without announcing the funds to the people of Kaduna state.

He also noted that the governor probably learnt the act of not disclosing funds from el-Rufai.

He questioned el-Rufai’s motives, suggesting that if the governor’s loyalty to Tinubu is driven by financial incentives, then el-Rufai’s allegiance to former President Buhari could be viewed in the same light.

“If the present governor refused to disclose the mythical ‘150 billion”, he must have learned it from the ex-governor. The ex-governor is coming to equity with dirty hands,” Sani said.

“If the present governor is supporting Tinubu because of money, can we say that the former one was supporting and kneeling for Buhari for the same reason?”

“It’s simply a case of the legend of betrayal being outsmarted by the grand guru.”
