The Middle Belt Conscience Guard (MBCG) has asked T.Y Danjuma, former chief of army staff, not to incite Christians.
T.Y Danjuma was chief of army staff in the 1970’s and minister of defence under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The ex-COAS was accused of forming an alliance with Zamani Lekwot, former military governor of Rivers state, and Solomon Asemota, SAN, under the aegis of Nigerian Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) to challenge President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
In a statement signed by its president, Raymond Enero, the group was particularly critical of Danjuma who can’t “suddenly become Paul” on the basis his fallacy.

“We want to, for instance, task TY Danjuma to prove that this his infamous outing was not meant to promote his personal business agenda,” he said.
“He may want to clarify his roles in Odi, Byelsa State and Zaki Ibiam, Benue State are predominantly Christian communities when they were massacred and razed to the ground when TY Danjuma abused his position as Defence Minister.
“The bloodletting from his encouragement has not stopped till date. If TY Danjuma is this committed to preservation and improvement of Christian lives why has he not made efforts to demobilize his militias that have continued to kill Tiv farmers in the north central of Nigeria?

“He must first renounce his disdain for Christians that are not of his ethnic stock before he can begin to acquire the capacity to protect Christians against imaginary threats. But as he is in his current state, he is not in any position to defend Christians anywhere as he.
The group, however, urged the Federal Government to put up necessary security measures to curtail impending crisis.
