You may soon earn from tweets through Twitter’s new ‘super follows’ feature

Twitter says it would be exploring a ‘super follows’ feature that will allow content creators charge their followers for “premium content”.

The company on Thursday rolled out some new features that would be available to users on a yet-to-be-announced date.

According to the micro-blogging platform, the ‘super follows’ feature is a payment arrangement that allows content creators and journalists to charge their followers, after subscribing for additional and exclusive content.

The feature also allows subscribers to have access to exclusive posts, newsletters, groups and a supporter badge on their profile alongside the option to cancel anytime.

Another new feature that was announced is ‘communities’. Under this feature, users can create and join groups based on their interests.

Users will also be able to read and engage more tweets relating to the communities they have created or joined. The ‘communities’ feature is similar to Facebook groups. For these new features, there is no timeline yet for the launch.

Recently, the company launched ‘Twitter spaces’, a new product that allows users to converse in audio chat rooms, just like Clubhouse.
