The Young Directors Forum of the Chartered Institute of Directors in Nigeria is set to hold its annual conference on promoting good business practices for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the country.
The forum is focused on promoting good governance practices and developing professional standards in Nigerian companies and the public sector.
The theme of the conference is ‘Building a sustainable business – The place of sustainability reporting’.
The conference will have sustainability experts in attendance who will speak on approaches for addressing the challenges of long-term businesses.

The experts will discuss sustainability reporting, corporate governance strategies, business promotion, and sustaining the economy.
In a statement issued on Friday, Folashade Akinmusire, chairman of the forum, said directors, secretaries of companies and sustainability heads will partake in the conference.
“The importance of sustainability can not be overemphasized, and this year, the YDF is committed to encouraging more organizations to adopt sustainable practices,” the statement reads.

“The conference will feature sustainability experts who will elucidate strategies and processes on how to handle the challenges in integrating and adopting sustainability and reporting practices that are critical to long-term business success.
“Entrepreneurs, directors and intending directors, company secretaries, CFOs, and sustainability heads, as well as aspiring sustainability experts, are invited to attend the conference.”
The forum will be held at Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos on October 17.
