President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, for his development efforts in the state.
The president spoke on Thursday while inaugurating some projects in Kaduna state.
Buhari said el-Rufai is devoted to transforming Kaduna and “has been very successful” in doing so.
The president lauded the governor for the infrastructural development in the state, saying Kaduna has recorded significant development.

“You have committed yourself to changing Kaduna and you have been very successful,” Buhari said.
“People throughout the country are appreciating it. You are writing your history in letters of gold. I congratulate you for your achievements so far.”
The projects inaugurated by the president included the urban renewal road projects, multi-storey basic education mega-school, remodelled Kawo overhead bridge along Zaria road, infectious disease hospital in Mando, and a fertiliser plant.

In his remarks, el-Rufai said the infrastructural development is intended to strengthen the state’s position as an investment destination.
“This unprecedented investment in urban infrastructure is to consolidate the state’s position as an investment destination, improve its economic competitiveness and promote the welfare of the residents of the state,” the governor said.
