The AYP speaker expressed the parliament’s desire to request the federal government to enlist Williams for a national honour for his service to humanity.
Babs also solicited the honoree’s support for the AYP’s plan to host the ‘Africa in the new decade conference’ in Cairo, Egypt from July 16 to 20 with the aim to awakening the consciousness of African governments towards efforts of the continent’s youth in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Africa before its 2030 deadline.
The Cairo conference, with the theme, “Agenda 2030: New possibilities for African youth”, would provide a platform for the participants to engage themselves on the UNSDGs with a view to ensuring that the goals, namely quality education, industry, innovation, infrastructure, peace, justice and strong institutions are implemented in the overall interest of the African youth.
