Zacch Adedeji, chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has commended the one-stop-shop (OSS) team, led by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for ensuring the smooth operation of the sale of crude oil in naira.
During his visit to the NPA headquarters on Thursday, Adedeji thanked the NPA-led team for playing a pivotal role in the successful implementation of the presidential directive on the initiative.
The FIRS boss, who is also the chairman of the technical sub-committee on the implementation of the federal government’s policy on domestic sales of crude oil and refined products in naira, said the initiative is a significant achievement that reflects the team’s dedication and patriotism.
“Thus, we encourage you to maintain the hard work and dedication that has made this initiative a success. We also extend our gratitude to all participating agencies for their invaluable cooperation and support,” Adedeji said.

Responding to Adedeji, Abubakar Dantsoho, managing director of the NPA, said the commendation would inspire the team to continue advancing the initiative.
He also thanked Adegboyega Oyetola, minister of marine and blue economy, for his leadership which “played a critical role in the success of the venture”.

“We also thank the tireless chairman of the technical sub-committee, Zacch Adedeji for the unwavering support that culminated in this milestone,” Dantsoho added.
The OSS team comprises representatives from various agencies, including the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian navy, the Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA), the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
Others include the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Port Health Service, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, the Dangote refinery, the Depot and Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPMAN), the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), and the Major Energies Marketers Association of Nigeria (MEMAN).
On July 29, the FEC approved a proposal by President Bola Tinubu directing the NNPC to sell crude oil to Dangote refinery and other refineries in naira.

The federal government said the sale of crude oil to the refinery and other refineries in naira would commence on October 1.
Three days later, the NPA said it had commenced implementation of the federal government directive to coordinate service provision from all stakeholders for the smooth sale of crude oil in naira to the Dangote plant.
