Babagana Zulum, the Borno state governor, is in Cairo, Egypt, with a team that will visit five universities.
During the trip to the north African country, Zulum is also expected to visit Azhar University Teaching Hospital to discuss collaborations on the establishment of a teaching hospital for the state university in Borno.
The governor is also seeking to partner with the relevant Egyptian institutions in areas of agriculture and higher education.
The governor had previously set up a panel for the establishment of a teaching hospital and a medical college.

According to a statement issued by the state government, Dandatti Abdulkadir, Nigeria’s ambassador to Egypt, received Zulum’s delegation and would work towards ensuring that the partnership between Borno and Egypt is transparent.
Members of Zulum’s entourage include Ali Kotoko, a member of the state house of assembly; Bukar Talba, commissioner for agriculture; and Babagana Mustapha Malumbe, commissioner for higher education, science and technology.
