‘Nigerian leaders prefer sycophants, shoeshiners’ — reactions trail Ganduje’s sacking of aide

Nigerians on Twitter are commenting on the sacking of Salihu Tanko-Yakasai by Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano state.

Tanko-Yakasai, Ganduje’s media aide, was sacked for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari.  

Tanko-Yakasai while reacting to the abduction of students from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara local government area of Zamfara, said the All Progressives Congress-led government has failed Nigerians.

  1. This great Nation is under a heavy and terrible siege. These are clear signs that there are powerful forces, internal and external, collaborating to disintegrate Nigeria. Mr President MUST act on intelligence reports and move against the conspirators. All of us are shouting and we are right but we are sufficiently knowledgeable enough to know that Nigeria is under a heavy siege. We cannot confront this threat to our sovereignty by trading blames.

  2. The governor is right to sack him because he’s not in the system to criticize it. He should have left the system to criticize it. On the other hand he should not be arrested because we are in democracy he has a right to his opinions outside the system.
